SEAL the Deal

July 29 – August 2, 2019

The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Edgecombe and Nash Counties will host the 2019 Summer Entrepreneurship and Leadership (S.E.A.L.) Camp for teens ages 13 to 17. This fun and interactive camp will be held July 29 through August 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The camp will be held at the East Carolina Agriculture and Education Center, located at 1175 Kingsboro Road in Rocky Mount.

Teens will have the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship by understanding the entrepreneurial process, while getting insight on their own leadership skills.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to entrepreneurship
  • Local small business ideas
  • Creating a business plan kids
  • Business pitch & presentation skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Local small business resources & obtaining funding

Imafe of SEAL campCamp participants will have the chance to present a final presentation during a business pitch “Shark Tank” competition on August 2! With this fun and interactive camp, teens will not only learn about entrepreneurship, they will also have the opportunity to enhance soft skills such as, communication, problem-solving, working with others, and presentation skills. These transferable skills can help prepare teens for future interviews, presentations, and public speaking events.
