Applications due by 9 a.m. on March 17, 2019

Edgecombe and Nash County producers are eligible to apply for the 2019 Pasture Renovation Initiative, funded through the “Hurricane Relief Fund” established by the North Carolina Farm Bureau.

The Pasture Renovation Seed Initiative seeks to replenish lost forage and to keep productive soils in the fields by offering summer perennials or summer annuals for pasture renovation to eligible producers at no cost as supplies last. Producers with pastures impacted by Hurricane Florence and Tropical Storm Michael can request up to $500 in seed (for new applicants), or $250 in seed (for producers who participated in the 2019 winter seed program). Total amount of seed that may be provided will be based on the number of acres impacted.

Producers are asked to submit an online application. The Foundation will begin accepting applications Monday, February 18, 2019, and close the application period at 9 a.m. on March 17, 2019. Producers will be notified by April 1, 2019, as to the status of their application. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Lovejoy with the Foundation at ncfswc@gmail.com or 919.510.4599.
