Edgecombe County is offering a prime opportunity to lease two cropland properties within the region. This well-maintained agricultural land is perfect for farmers looking to expand their operations and seeking quality acreage. Don’t miss out on securing this sought-after piece of Edgecombe County’s agricultural assets. Listed below are the properties available for lease for a three-year contract (Jan. 2025-Dec. 2027).

Group 1 (Kingsboro Industrial Site): 196.5 total acres

  • Farm 1406, Tract 9325 consisting of 9 fields for 134.8 acres
  • Farm 6295, Tract 9513 consisting of 2 fields for 20.5 acres
  • Farm 6296, Tract 9514 consisting of 1 field for 17.7 acres
  • Farm 6300, Tract 9500 consisting of 2 fields for 5.2 acres
  • Farm 6300, Tract 9501 consisting of 2 fields for 18.3 acres

Group 2 (Landfill Farm Site): 46.29 acres

  • Farm 5560, Tract 1229 consisting of 7 fields for 46.29 acres

Key Points:

  1. The lease term is three calendar years (2025-2027).
  2. These properties may be used only for crop production and harvest.
  3. Neither subleasing nor reassigning use of the property to others is permitted.
  4. Please avoid trespassing on neighboring properties when inspecting these properties.
  5. The farmer(s) who lease these properties must provide a certificate of insurance for at least $1 Million general public liability insurance covering claims for personal injury, loss of life, and property damage. The farmer will also be required to have Worker’s Compensation insurance as required by North Carolina law.

All bids must be received by Monday, December 30th at 12:00 p.m. Noon. Bids will be opened at 12:15 p.m. on December 30th and winning bids will be presented for approval at the January County Commissioner’s meeting. Interested farmers should submit Farm Lease Bid Forms to:
