Many pesticide container recycling locations across North Carolina have been seeing high rejection rates due to products not being properly cleaned out and disposed of. As a reminder for those looking to utilize this service, pesticide containers are to be triple rinsed, caps removed, and booklets removed, so that the container itself is clean and ready to be recycled. Attached are photos of multiple pesticide containers and what they should look like inside and outside if they are to be accepted for disposal. If anyone has any questions or concerns about pesticide container recycling, please contact N.C. Cooperative Extension, Edgecombe County Center for more guidance.
