June 27 – 30, 2023
The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Edgecombe and Nash Counties will host the 2023 Summer Entrepreneurship and Leadership Camp (S.E.A.L.), for teens ages 13 – 17. This fun and interactive camp will be held June 27 – 29 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and June 30 from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The S.E.A.L. Camp will be held at the East Carolina Agriculture & Education Center, located at 1175 Kingsboro Road in Rocky Mount.
Teens will have the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship by understanding the entrepreneurial process, while getting insight on their own leadership skills.
- Introduction to entrepreneurship
- Local small business ideas
- Creating a business plan
- Business pitch & presentation skills
- Leadership skills
- Local small business resources & obtaining funding
Camp participants will have the chance to present a final presentation during a business pitch “Shark Tank” competition on June 30th! With this fun and interactive camp, teens will not only learn about entrepreneurship, they will also have the opportunity to enhance soft skills such as, communication, problem-solving, working with others, and presentation skills. These transferable skills can help prepare teens for future interviews, presentations, and public speaking events.
