2020 has been full of disappointments for 4-Hers across the state due to the cancelation of face to face youth programs. Fortunately, our state 4-H livestock judging contest, typically held in July, was rescheduled for November 1st and our 4-Hers had the opportunity to compete. Since the cancelation of face to face programs in April, our livestock judging team practiced virtually on a weekly basis. Virtual livestock judging practice was something our 4-Hers had never experienced and quite frankly the group was not fan of it. Nevertheless, week after week the group stayed dedicated to learning about livestock and being successful at the state contest. Need less to say, their hard work payed off. Seven 4-Hers, junior, intermediate and senior, traveled to Raleigh to compete in the state contest and each one came home with multiple awards. We can not be more proud of this group.
