Does your child show an interest in cooking or helping out in the kitchen? Or maybe they are getting ready for college and need to learn cooking skills before they leave. Either way, N.C. Cooperative Extension of Currituck County has the perfect class to add spice to their life! On March 13, 2020, from 4 until 6:30 p.m., youth ages 10 to 18 are invited to join us for the first class in our gardening and cooking series.

At the beginning of class, youth will plant their very own herb garden to sit in your windowsill at home. For the second part of the class, we will create delicious dishes using the herbs we planted. We invite parents to join us at 6 p.m. to taste our creations and learn about how to utilize fresh herbs in other family meals. Family dinner, the container garden, all our recipes, and educational materials are included in the $20.00 class fee. Container Herb Class

Reserve your child’s seat today by first completing the class registration and payment at youthcontainerherbs.eventbrite.com. Then complete your child’s 2020 4-H enrollment online at 4HOnline. We also accept cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks are made payable to NC State University. Checks and cash payments can be received at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Currituck County office, 12 Community Way, Barco NC 27917, prior to the class. Class size is limited and full registration, including payment, is required to hold your child’s spot. We will gladly help you complete your online registration, please feel free to call us at 252-232-2261, and we will walk you through the process.
