4-H’ers Earn Junior Park Ranger Badges

— Written By

In celebration of the NC State Parks’ 100th anniversary, a group of Edgecombe County 4-H’ers traveled to Merchants Millpond State Park for a fun day of hands-on exploration. These youth experienced the Park via canoe and foot trail, learned about the Park’s ecosystems from a Park Ranger, and completed a stewardship project to clear a hiking trail of sticks and other debris. This enthusiastic bunch of 4-H’ers earned Junior Park Ranger badges for their commitment to enjoying, learning about, and protecting the park.
